     METRO

The most efficient way to travel to major sites is to take the Métro.  The  nearest station is Rome (line 2).  There are also taxi and bus stops here.  This line will take you directly to:

·               Place Clichy, a major hub for many city bus and Métro lines

·                Charles de Gaulle Etoile - Arch of Triumph and more bus/Métro hubs

·                Sacre Coeur

·                Père Lachaise and the edge of the Marais district

    BUSES

Though the Métro is an adventure and in some cases quicker, we prefer by far the buses.   This is one of the best ways to see the city from many perspectives, especially before or after rush hour. Depending on which bus you take you can traverse the Seine, pass the Eiffel Tower, and land in the Latin Quarter, with all the eye candy of the city passing before you while you relax.  Don’t be afraid to try them, there’s no mystery here.

Bus 66, a stop is a minute walk away at the Parc des Batignolles, goes to Opéra.

Bus 54 and 74 take you in ten minutes to Place Clichy.  From Clichy the 54 bus goes to Gare du Nord and beyond and the 74 bus goes to Louvre and beyond.

For a week stay or less, buy a week pass (11 euros) or a carnet (car-NAY) of 10 tickets.  The apartment information book has other suggestions and alternatives.
